On 11/03/13 at 1806 hours Manchester Police received a 911 call reporting a fire at lot 355 in the Pine Acres Manor Mobile Home development in Manchester Township, located off State Highway 37. Upon arrival Officer Brian Collins reported heavy smoke coming from the residence. Officer Collins also found the owner and sole occupant, Lisa Cottrell, (50) lying on the grass in front of the mobile home having difficulty breathing. Manchester First aid squad responded and transported her to Community Medical Center. The Fire was extinguished by Manchester, and Ridgeway fire departments. The fire was investigated by the Manchester Police Criminal Investigations unit, the Ocean County Prosecutors Office, and the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office. The cause of the fire was determined to be the improper disposal of smoking materials.
