On July 22, 2013 at approximately 1400 hours, Kenneth Jackson, age 31 of Spruce Dr. Manchester, was riding his bicycle along Colonial Drive when he was struck by a Honda Accord. The vehicle was operated by Karl Hill, age 56 of Douglas Drive Manchester, as he was attempting to turn right onto Colonial Dr. from the Rt. 37 exit ramp at the time of the crash. Mr. Jackson was treated at the scene by Quality Medical Transport for his injuries and he was transported to Community Medical Center for further evaluation. Mr. Jackson’s vehicle sustained damage and was towed from the scene. The crash is still under investigation by Traffic Safety Officer Paul Bachovchin. Manchester Police would like to remind all drivers to be vigilant for the presence of bicyclists, motor cycles, and pedestrians while operating their vehicles. Additionally, bicyclists need to obey all traffic regulations.
