On July 20, 2013 at 12:01pm Manchester Police were notified that an elderly man was unconscious in the wooded area bordering Manchester Twp and the Joint Navy Base at Lakehurst off of Dace Rd.  He was found by a family riding ATV’s in the area.  Due to the large area involved and no significant landmarks, a search effort of several Manchester Police officers, NJ State Forest Fire service, and MONOC Paramedics set out to find the senior.  Manchester Police were able to use the cell phone of the caller to track their location via its GPS.  Paramedics arrived with the NJ State Forest Fire Service on their brush truck and assessed the patient who was semi-conscious at that time.  The Paramedics loaded the patient on the brush truck and drove him to a waiting ambulance on Union Ave in Lakehurst.

Once the patient was loaded onto the ambulance it was discovered that his identity was Richard Craw, 94, of Wall Twp.  Craw was entered as a Silver Alert missing endangered person on July 19th  by Wall Twp. Police.  Manchester Police re-entered the wooded area looking for Craw’s vehicle, which was located approximately a ¼ mile from where he was found.

Craw was taken to Community Medical Center for evaluation and was listed in stable condition.
