On 05/01/2013 Officer Scott Thompson observed a dark colored vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed along State Hwy 70 west bound near MM 46.  Ptl. Thompson initiated a motor vehicle stopped on the 2001 Black 4 door Volkswagen along State Hwy 70 at the entrance of the Manchester Plaza in Manchester Township.  The vehicle was occupied by one male driver.  The driver advised Ptl. Thompson he left his wallet at home along with his identification.   The male driver gave Ptl. Thompson his name as Michael P. Dobrowolski Jr.   New Jersey State Motor Vehicle records indicated there was no such person in the database with that name.  Ptl. Thompson, also accompanied by Manchester Sgt. Bryan Vidovich, asked the driver to step out of the vehicle.  Sgt. Vidovich noticed and retrieved a wallet out of the male’s rear pocket.  Inside the wallet, Sgt. Vidovich noticed an Ocean County ID along with this male’s photo.  The ID indicated the male’s name was Thomas E. Dobrowolski who is a 51 year old resident of Jackson Twp.  It was later discovered that Dobrowolski’s driver’s license was suspended and he had a $500.00 traffic warrant out of Lakehurst.  When Ptl. Thompson and Sgt. Vidovich attempted to arrest Dobrowolski he began to actively resist by trying to push away from the Officers.  The Officers were able to gain control of Dobrowolski and took him into custody without further incident.  Dobrowolski was charged with Resisting Arrest and Providing False Information to a Police Officer.  He was also issued Motor Vehicle summons for Speeding 17 MPH over the posted speed limit and Driving while Suspended.  Manchester Twp Municipal Judge set bail at $5000.00 for the charges filed.  Dobrowolski was transported to Ocean County Jail in default of the Manchester and Lakehurst warrants.
