On Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at approximately 2:17 p.m., a Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Company engine was traveling eastbound on Ridgeway Road when it attempted to make a left turn into the fire company headquarters and collided with a 2010 Hyundai Accent traveling westbound on the roadway.

fire engine collisionThe driver of the Hyundai Accent, 18-year-old Nicole J. Clyde of New Egypt, was properly restrained and transported to Centra State Medical Center with head and wrist injuries. The driver of the fire engine, Ralph A. Capasso, was also properly restrained and did not suffer any injuries as a result of the collision.

Assisting at the scene were the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Company and Quality Medical Transport.  The crash remains under investigation by Patrolman Ian Bole from the Manchester Township Police Traffic Safety Bureau.
