At 3 a.m. on Sept. 20, 2014, the Seaside Heights Police Department contacted the Manchester Township Police requesting a check of a residence in the Pine Lake Park section of Manchester for a reported stolen vehicle. The vehicle was described as a 1998 red Honda Civic with a New Jersey registration. Patrolman Micheal Guarino responded to the address but the vehicle was not there.
At 3:31 a.m., Patrolman Guarino observed the vehicle headed westbound on State Highway 37 while on routine patrol. He conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Farm Street in Manchester. The operator, 30-year-old Rita Solheim of Anchorage Blvd. in Bayville was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property.
She was processed at Manchester Township Police headquarters and released to Seaside Heights Police Department, where additional charges were issued.
