A Manchester man and a Forked River woman were arrested and charged with a litany of drug offenses after they were found to be in possession of heroin, cocaine, hypodermic syringes and an assortment of other drug paraphernalia during a motor vehicle stop on Tuesday afternoon. Dandre Tubbs, 29, of Birmingham Avenue in Manchester and Sara McCanna, 23, of Beverly Road in Forked River were arrested by members of the department’s Narcotics Enforcement Team on Tuesday afternoon. Tubbs and McCanna were arrested after being stopped on County Route 530 by members of the Narcotics Enforcement Team (N.E.T.).

While conducting surveillance in the area, members of the N.E.T. observed suspicious activity in the Crestwood Village section of the Township. At approximately 2:00 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle, which was involved in the drug investigation on Route 530 near Township Line Road. During that time, officers observed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that Dandre Tubbs was in possession of a small baseball bat, 46 bags of heroin, over 2 grams of crack cocaine, hypodermic syringes, and drug paraphernalia. The vehicle’s passenger, Sara McCanna, was found to be in possession of hypodermic syringes and drug paraphernalia. 

Tubbs was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin, Possession of Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, Hindering Apprehension by Concealment of Evidence, Possession of Hypodermic Syringes, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. McCanna was charged with Possession of Hypodermic Syringes and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Both parties were released on summonses pending a court appearance. Tubbs’ vehicle was seized pending forfeiture. Also assisting in the investigation were members of the Manchester Township Police Department’s Patrol Bureau.
