On March 4, 2026, we had the honor of celebrating the retirement of Corporal Michael Terranova from the Manchester Township Police Department, surrounded by his co-workers, friends, and family.
Cpl. Terranova joined the Manchester Township Police Department in 2003 after previously serving with the Seaside Heights Police Department. Over the past two decades, he built a career defined by dedication, professionalism, and a strong commitment to both his fellow officers and the community he served.

Throughout his time with the department, Cpl. Terranova served as a SWAT operator with the Ocean County Regional SWAT Team and played an important role in mentoring and training others. He served as a D.A.R.E. and L.E.A.D. instructor, helping guide young members of our community, and was also an ASP/Baton Instructor, Handcuffing Instructor, and Defensive Tactics Instructor. In addition, he held certifications as a Gracie Survival Tactics Instructor and Krav Maga Instructor, helping ensure officers were well prepared and trained.
In February 2023, he was designated as a Corporal, an honor recognizing officers with more than 20 years of outstanding service to the department and profession. Throughout his career, Cpl. Terranova’s work was recognized through numerous commendations, including the Wounded Award, Meritorious Service Award, and Pistol Expert Award. He also received many letters of appreciation from members of the public who experienced firsthand his calm and compassionate approach during difficult situations. Cpl. Terranova’s impact on this department will be felt for many years to come.

Thank you, Mike, for your many years of dedicated service to the residents of Manchester Township. We wish you good health, happiness, and a well-deserved retirement.
