Motor Vehicle Accident reports can be obtained through the Record Section of the Police Division.

The Records Section is open from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday (except holidays).

Motor Vehicle Accident reports can also be accessed on-line 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Fees for Accident reports are as follows:

$0.05 per page when picked up at Police Headquarters

$5.00 for the whole report (regardless of the number of pages) for reports sent through the mail.

$5.00 for the whole report (regardless of the number of pages) for reports obtained from Carfax.

Accident reports are generally prepared by patrol and traffic safety officers and are therefore subjected to a review process. This process causes the release of records to be delayed. Anyone requesting a report should first call the Police Division’s Records Section to ascertain if the report is ready for release. The number to contact for this is 732-657-2009, ext. 4500.

Generally, you should expect that it will take five business days for your report to be available for release.

Manchester Town Police Department is digitizing its crash reports through a partnership with the Carfax Police Crash Assistance Program. The reports are stored electronically in a secure database and available for purchase online.
