Three Trenton residents were arrested after being stopped on State Highway 70 near the Holly Oaks section of Manchester Township.  On Friday, May 10, 2019, members of the department’s Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of the QuickChek on County Route 571.  The vehicle was stopped on Route 70 for a motor vehicle violation as it left the area.  Through further investigation officers conducted a search of the vehicle and its three occupants. The search revealed approximately 120 bags of heroin with a street value of over $800 as well as drug paraphernalia.      

The driver, 18-year-old Devonte Laws, was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia and Marijuana Use. 

The passenger, 19-year-old Roger Carter-Evans, was charged with one count each of Possession and Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Loitering to Distribute CDS, and Marijuana Use.    

The passenger, 19-year-old Kyjohn Stewart, was charged with one count each of Possession and Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Loitering to Distribute CDS, and Marijuana Use.   

All parties were released on summonses with a pending court date.        

Also assisting in the investigation were members of the Manchester Township Police K-9 Unit.
