On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at approximately 9:46 pm, officers from the Manchester Township Police Department responded to the intersection of Commonwealth Blvd and Bismarck St to investigate a motor vehicle crash involving three vehicles.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers observed a white 2017 Chevrolet Equinox on Bismarck St just north of Commonwealth Blvd overturned on its roof. Also observed was a blue 2021 Honda Accord located in the northwest corner of the intersection of Commonwealth Blvd and Bismarck St facing north with extensive front-end damage. A gray 2005 Honda Civic was located off the roadway with extensive front-end damage. The investigation revealed that the Chevrolet was traveling northbound on Bismarck St approaching the intersection of Commonwealth Blvd. The Honda Accord was traveling westbound on Commonwealth Blvd approaching the intersection. The Honda Civic was on Bismarck St stopped at the stop sign. At that time, the Chevrolet went through the intersection causing the front end of the Honda Accord to impact with the passenger side of the Chevrolet. The Chevrolet became airborne and impacted the Honda Civic. The Honda Accord rotated approximately 45 degrees clockwise and came to a final rest in the northwest corner of the intersection. The Chevrolet rolled onto its roof coming to a final rest in the middle of the roadway.

The driver of the Chevrolet identified as a juvenile from Toms River, NJ, suffered minor injuries. The 5-month-old baby located in the backseat of the Chevrolet sustained no injuries. They were both transported by ambulance to Jersey Shore Medical Center. The driver of the Honda Accord, identified as 28-year-old Adan Espinal of Manchester, NJ was transported to Community Medical Center for minor injuries. The driver of the Honda Civic, identified as 36-year-old Jacob Lob of Manchester, NJ sustained no injuries from the crash. The roadway was closed during the investigation and cleanup.

Assisting at the scene were EMTs from the Manchester Township Division of Emergency Services, Hatzolah, firefighters from Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department, Manchester Volunteer Fire Department and Robert Wood Johnson Paramedics. The investigation into this crash is still ongoing, however, disregard of a stop sign appears to be the primary contributing factor. This crash is being investigated by Ptl. Sage Sysol of the department’s Traffic Safety Section.
