A Wrightstown woman was charged with multiple counts of theft after a yearlong investigation revealed that she had been stealing jewelry belonging to several elderly residents while she was cleaning their homes.  Charged on Tuesday was 38-year-old, Linda Kreig of Wrightsown, NJ.

From May of 2019 to December of 2019, officers from the Manchester Township Police Department responded to several different residences where the victims reported that their jewelry was stolen by the house cleaner who was working for a cleaning company based out of Toms River, NJ.

After several reports were taken, the case was assigned to Detective Joseph Fastige, of the department’s Investigations Bureau for follow-up. Detective Fastige identified Ms. Linda Kreig as the house cleaner and subsequently charged her with four counts of third degree Theft.  Assisting in the investigation were members of the Manchester Township Police Department’s Patrol Division, the Barnegat Township Police Department, and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s office.

Although several victims reported their jewelry stolen, we believe that there may still be additional unidentified victims. As a result, the Manchester Township Police is requesting that anyone who had Ms. Kreig clean their homes and believes that they may have been the victim of a theft to please contact Detective Joseph Fastige at (732) 657-2009 ext. 4208.
