A 28 year old Lumberton Township resident was arrested and charged for Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Hypodermic Needles on Wednesday, December 12th, 2013.  Samrina S. Elly, of Thornhill Drive in Lumberton, NJ, was arrested by Officer Joseph Fastige after she struck a vehicle from behind on State Highway 70 near the Manchester Township Public Works Garage, who was stopped on State Highway 70, waiting to turn onto their property.  During the crash investigation, Samrina Elly was found to be in possession of 35 glassine envelopes containing suspected heroin.  Various types of drug paraphernalia and hypodermic needles were also seized in the investigation.  Samrina Elly was arrested and later transported to the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00, bail with no 10% option.  Officer Christian Nazario and Officer Joseph Reilly assisted in the investigation.  This matter is pending court action.
