On July 8, 2015, members of the Manchester Township Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Team and Investigations Bureau along with members of the Ocean County Regional SWAT Team executed a Court authorized search warrant at a residence on Charles Avenue in the Summit Park section of the Township.

The six week investigation began after the department’s Narcotics Enforcement Team received complaints about possible drug distribution on that block. A subsequent investigation led to police obtaining a search warrant for the residence.

During the search of the home, evidence of a small marijuana grow was discovered along with a quantity of marijuana, potted marijuana plants, scales, packaging material and other paraphernalia associated with the distribution of marijuana. Also located within the residence were eleven (11) pit bull dogs – 3 adults and 8 puppies. All of the dogs were removed from the home by the Manchester Township Animal Control Officer.

Arrested were the following:

  • Joshua Ridley, 22, of Horicon Drive, Manchester
  • Shykeel Coleman, 28, of Nathan Avenue, Manchester
  • Shamyron Holloman, 34, of Charles Avenue, Manchester
  • Shaquira Lightsey, 23, of Charles Avenue, Manchester
  • Dale Dabney, 26, of Greenview Street, Toms River

Ridley and Coleman were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail for the two was set at $2,000.00 with a 10 percent option. Additionally, Coleman had an outstanding warrant out of Brick Township. Coleman later posted bail at Manchester Police headquarters and was released. Ridley was transported to OCJ in default of bail. Holloman, Lightsey, and Dabney were each charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The three were later released on complaint summonses.

The investigation was led by Sgt. James Komsa, Ptl. Peter Manco, and Ptl. Steven Wendruff. Also assisting with this investigation was the Lakehurst Police Department, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 and Crime Scene Investigation Units and the Middle Atlantic-Great Lakes Organized Crime Law Enforcement Network (Magclolen).
