On August 2, 2015, at approximately 7:45 p.m., members of the Manchester Township Police Narcotics Enforcement Team stopped a Buick Regal, operated by 19 year old Brittany N. Davis of Commonwealth Boulevard, on Route 571 near Ridgeway Boulevard for failing to maintain her lane.
During the stop, paraphernalia associated with heroin use was discovered inside Davis’ vehicle. Davis was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Manchester Police headquarters for processing. While at police headquarters, a search of Davis was conducted by a female police officer during which time two bundles (20 bags) of heroin was found concealed on her person.
The ensuing investigation led police to Davis’ residence where consent to search the home was obtained. As a result of the search, hypodermic needles and other paraphernalia associated with heroin use was recovered.
Upon completion of the investigation, Davis was charged with possession of heroin, hindering apprehension, possession of hypodermic needles/syringes, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to surrender CDS. Bail was set for Davis at $11,000 and she was later transported to Ocean County Jail.
Also assisting with this investigation was Sgt. Summer Cunliffe of the Lakewood Township Police Department and Officer Kevin Fennessey and with his K-9 Stosh of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office.
