On 10/29/2013 at 10:09 am, Officer Brian Volk stopped a green 1997 two door Toyota on County Road 571 in Manchester Township. As Officer Volk walked up to the vehicle he detected a strong odor of raw marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle. The Toyota was occupied by the driver, Jonathan T. Pickard, a 23 year old Beachwood resident. Pickard consented to a search of his vehicle and Officer Volk seized marijuana along with drug paraphernalia. Also found inside the vehicle was a Dirk style dagger, a blow gun, and a Police expandable metal Baton. Pickard advised police that he works in retail and did not have a legitimate reason to possess the weapons. Pickard was later charged with two counts of Unlawful Possession of a weapon, Possession of CDS, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia was released on Summons. Officer Volk was assisted at the scene by Officer Paul Bachovchin and Officer Patrick Mabie.
