On December 5, 2012, at approximately 8:12pm, Manchester Township Patrol Officers responded to the Briar Hill Apartment Complex, for a reported assault. The incident involved five Manchester Township residents who engaged in a physical altercation which was precipitated by a child custody dispute. Detectives from the Manchester Township Investigations Bureau responded and investigated the incident. As a result of the investigation John P. Borges, age 32 of Pine Acres Manor, and Bryan W. Werntz Jr., age 27 of Holly Oaks were both arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Both Borges and Werntz Jr. were transported to the Ocean County Jail in lieu of bail. Kristin Russ, age 29 of Briar Hill and Roxanne Cannelli, age 29 of Pine Acres Manor were both charged with simple assault and released on summonses. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Unit assisted with the investigation.
