A two month long investigation by the Manchester Township Police Department resulted in the arrest of a Township resident who was subsequently charged in connection with residential burglaries that occurred in Crestwood Village located in the Whiting section of Manchester Township. This investigation involved Burglaries and Attempted Burglaries to over 60 homes. Entry was made to a third of these residences, monies in both coin and bill form along with jewelry were taken. During some of these burglaries Manchester Township residents were inside their homes while the criminal acts had taking place. Jason M. Clancy age 26 of Mill Rd Manchester, NJ was arrested at his home where much of the proceeds were recovered. Jason M. Clancy was previously charged with three counts of Burglary, two counts of Theft and three counts of Criminal Mischief. As more physical evidence has been recovered to link him to further burglaries, Jason M. Clancy has since been charged with four additional counts of Burglary, eight additional counts of Attempted Burglary, twelve additional counts of Criminal Mischief and three counts of Theft. Jason M. Clancy is now being held in lieu of $75,000.00 bail with no 10% option. The investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending as the investigation continues. Instrumental to the investigation were members of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CIU & K9 units, the Toms River Township Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
