The Manchester Township Police Department is pleased to welcome its newest Patrolman, Adam R. Carey. Mayor Kenneth T. Palmer administered Ptl. Carey’s oath during the May 26th Township Council meeting in front of family, friends, and police personnel including Chief Lisa Parker.

Ptl. Carey is a Toms River resident who comes highly recommended to the Manchester Township Police Department following a thorough application and background investigation process. A 2008 Toms River High School North graduate, Ptl. Carey attended Albright College in Reading, PA., and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. An athlete since high school, Ptl. Carey volunteered his time in college to help children in their athletic endeavors and served as an assistant football coach at High School North.

Ptl. Carey began his law enforcement career with the Seaside Heights Police Department in September of 2014 as a Class I Special Officer. He was then hired by the Toms River Township Police Department in November of 2014 as a jail guard in their detention facility. Ptl. Carey successfully completed the Ocean County Police Academy Class II Special Police Officer training class on May 19, 2015.

Ptl. Carey will begin the Manchester Township Police’s intensive twelve week Field Training and Evaluation Program next week during which time he will be instructed and mentored by several highly trained and seasoned officers. Upon successful completion of the Field Training Program, Ptl. Carey will be assigned to a patrol squad. We wish Ptl. Carey success as he begins his law enforcement career serving Manchester Township and its residents.
