On 02-22-13 at 1757 hours, a caller reported a structure fire at 1232 Sixth Avenue in the Pine Lake Park section of Manchester Township. When officers arrived they observed heavy smoke coming from the home, and confirmed that all residents were safely out of the single family home. Shortly thereafter Manchester Volunteer Fire Company arrived and began to extinguish the fire. Manchester Fire was assisted by the following agencies; Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Company, Whiting Volunteer Fire Company , Lakehurst Volunteer Fire Company, Lakehurst Joint Base Fire Company , and Manchester Volunteer First Aid. The fire companies were able to contain the fire to the kitchen area of the residence, but the rest of the residence sustained heavy smoke damage. The fire is not considered suspicious, and the Manchester Township building inspector deemed the residence uninhabitable. The residents were assisted with shelter arrangements by the Red Cross.
