A three-week investigation by Manchester Township Police Officers led to drug charges for two Whiting residents on Dec. 2, 2014. As a result of multiple days of surveillance throughout Manchester, Toms River, Island Heights and Pine Beach, Manchester Township Police were able to obtain search warrants for a home and vehicle in Whiting.

During the searches, Officers recovered six bricks of heroin (more than 300 individual bags), $1,400 in cash, crack cocaine, methadone, multiple cell phones, drug packaging material, hypodermic needles and other drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the investigation, Kellyann Lomberk, 34, of Amesbury Road in Whiting, was charged with distribution of heroin, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lomberk was transported to the Ocean County Jail and held on $40,000 bail, and her 2004 Hyundai Elentra was impounded pending forfeiture proceedings.

Also arrested was Adam Petronio, 31, after he was observed purchasing heroin from Lomberk in the parking lot of a Whiting business. Petronio was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a summons.

Leading the investigation were Sgt. James Komsa, Patrolman Peter Manco and Patrolman Steven Wendruff of the Manchester Township Police. They were assisted during the warrant searches by Ocean County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit Officer Theodore Wielichoski and his dog Nash.
