On 09-25-12 at approximately 1210hrs., Betty Shotwell, 85, of the Whiting section of Manchester, was walking in the parking lot of the Stop and Shop grocery store. She allegedly stumbled over a parking block and fell on the asphalt. Shotwell suffered a laceration over her left eye and head trauma. Quality Medical ambulance service and MONOC paramedics arrived and rendered aid along with Manchester Police Officer Jason Wiener. Paramedics requested a Medevac helicopter. South Star Medevac landed nearby and airlifted Shotwell to Jersey Shore Trauma Center for further treatment.
